Gabriel Job creates stunning limited edition art, interior design accessories, and unique gift items, by utilising traditional handcraft within contemporary design. All Gabriel Job pieces are crafted painstakingly by hand and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
Our story begins in 2011 with a photographer working with the leading artisan company in Marrakech Morocco, taking product images of stunning bespoke lighting and furniture. Working closely with the artisans who make them, he developed an understanding of how their craft provided an opportunity to maintain sustainable lives that otherwise wouldn’t exist.
Their situation is far better than many in sub-Saharan Africa, who began to use Morocco as a gateway to Europe. With growing numbers of Africans begging on the streets of Marrakech, he was often approached while sitting in his car at traffic lights with a smile and a look showing certainty he would give something because he looked like them and was obviously in a better situation.
The heartbreaking situation of some areas of Africa and the lives of many who live there are never far from his mind. Knowing that some in this world have come to realise that genuine living is being in the service of others, he made this his mission.
“It is not the style of clothes one wears, neither the kind of automobile one drives nor the amount of money one has in the bank, that counts. These mean nothing. It is simply service that measures success.” George Washington Carver
It is with this mindset that he decided to use his newly created brand to help make sustainable change to children's lives in sub- Saharan Africa. Gabriel job allies with charitable organisations to build schools for orphans, provide educational material, dig wells for clean drinking water, and also provide food and clothing in West Africa.
If every person living a life of dignity impacted the life of a single person living in poverty, this world would be a very different place. Gabriel Job has joined the revolution for change to help create favourable living conditions and life chances that many sub-Saharan Africans are excluded from through no fault of their own. Join us on our journey.
